It is one of the most beautiful places in Chandigarh. Sukhna lake is a nice place to spend time alone, with family or friends. Whenever I come to Sukhna Lake with my family or friends, I spend quality time at the lake. Shukhna lake is located in the low foothills of Shivalik hills. Moreover, this lake is spread over 3 km. Sukhna Lake Chandigarh is a man-made lake. Obviously, I go there with my family on weekends. During the day I could see visitors sitting by the lake and enjoying various activities here. While You can go for pedal boating, speed boating, shikara ride, as well as even cruising on this lake. There are also different charges for each boat type, which change from season to season depending on the basis of tourist movement. The cruise is a new addition to the boating scene at Sukhna Lake. Whenever you can have coffee or tea breakfast with your friends. Even so, It\u2019s a place to dine as well as relax for locals and tourists because the rates are nominal. The area around the lake also has souvenir shops to buy small curios and make your trip by shopping here. You can grab small toys for kids, key chains, stones, hats, diaries, and many more. Additionally,  you can also find stalls selling street food likewise samosas, bread pakoras, and ice cream. however, Shopping here is a great choice for those who are not really interested in boating at Sukhna Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sit_and_Relax_on_the_wall\"><\/span><strong>Sit and Relax on the wall<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I was tired from walking around Sukhna Lake. I sat on the wall made of rocks along with my family and saw the scene of Sukhna Lake. It is also the perfect spot to watch the sunrise and sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Watch_The_Sunset\"><\/span><strong>Watch The Sunset<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The lake turns absolutely breathtaking during the time of sunrise and sunset when the water mirrors the various hues of the sky and there is mist on the mountains in the backdrop, creating a scene straight out of a painting!  On the other hand, you can simply sit on the rock stairs of the lake along with family, friends, or better half, and enjoy the views of the rising or setting sun in peace! However, It is also the top spot to watch the sunrise and sunset in Chandigarh. All the visitors to Sukhna Lake would surely look at the magnificent Peepal Tree, which is about 150 years old. In addition, widespread tree stands along the road are about 250 meters distance from the main entrance of the lake. The airport is 11 km away from Sukhana Lake however, Taxis are available for the airport. Chandigarh is not only well connected by rail to the national capital New Delhi but also, to other major cities. The Railway Station is in Sector 17, 8 km from the city center. Camel rides are also offered to tourists outside the lake, if you have not yet taken a camel ride, then you can also experience a camel ride here.
