As soon as, my math exam was over, I decided to visit some museums in Chandigarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the worst part was, that no friend of mine was ready to visit there as most of them hate museums and history stuff. So, I decided to visit there alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now let me give you, some information about Chandigarh and its museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube Short-The Government Museum and art gallery in Chandigarh\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ONQStV46LUw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarded as one of the best cities in India to adopt a mixture of western and traditional cultures, Chandigarh is also famous for its Tourism, <a href=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/open-hand-monument-in-chandigarh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Monuments <\/a>and variety of museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> In total, there are more than 15 museums in a city. The Government Museum of Art and gallery, Chandigarh Architecture Museum, National History Museum, Museum of Evolution life, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Le_Corbusier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Le Corbusier<\/a> Centre, National Gallery of Portraits, and High Court Museum, are the most visited ones. However, the government Museum of Art and gallery is culturally and archeologically more significant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After researching for a while, I decided to visit the government Museum of Art and gallery. But after the saddened partition of India and Pakistan, not only people but Museum\u2019s sculptures and paintings were also divided and housed in Lahore for a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-7-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Chandigarh Museum \" class=\"wp-image-8276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-7-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-7-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After the division in April 1948, India gains 40% of its objects and the remaining 60 % to Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, on 16 May 1968, M.S Randhawa, the Commissioner of Chandigarh inaugurated this museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, this museum is not only culturally significant but also politically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Location\"><\/span>Location-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Located in Sector- 10C of Chandigarh, It is a few km away from Panjab university and is located on the front side of Rose Garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can visit there by bus, too, as the connectivity of Chandigarh buses is very well planned and smart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also visited there, by bus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Timing\"><\/span>Timing-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I get to know from authorities that Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday. 10 am to 4:30 pm is a fixed time to get an entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Timing can be extended by 40-45 minutes on weekends due to more visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I reached there by 11 am, my mind was very shaky as I was alone but the excitement of the museum killed my shakiness after some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Entry\"><\/span>Entry-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When I reached there, I came to know that this is a museum complex, which comprises four main buildings or museums, namely the government museum of art and gallery, Chandigarh Architecture Museum, National History Museum, and Museum of Evolution Life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as, you will enter, the Museum will be waiting for you to come inside it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just kidding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although, I became happy as I\u2019m going to visit three more museums along with this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ticket_Prices\"><\/span>Ticket Prices-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just after entering the building of the museum, there was a ticket Counter. I get to know, ticket prices, from staff members, which you can see in the given below table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Mueseum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"The Government Museum and art gallery Ticket Prices \" class=\"wp-image-8275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Mueseum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Mueseum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I had to pay 30 Rupees for my Ticket to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A staff member insisted to deposit my bag on a counter due to security reasons.  Apart from this, they Charged me extra 50 Rupees for Clicking Pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, now, I was excited to know whether my money is going to be worth the museum or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Inside_of_the_Museum\"><\/span>Inside of the Museum-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Ground_Section_of_the_Museum\"><\/span>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ground Section of the Museum-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the ground section of the Museum, various sculptures and paintings were hanging on a wall. Everything was so beautiful and perfect. It was small but very informative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"The Government Museum and art gallery\" class=\"wp-image-8277\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-2-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-2-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Upper_Section_of_the_Museum\"><\/span>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Upper Section of the Museum-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, it was time for the Upper Section of the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a counter, one staff member was saying very positive things about Upper Section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, my expectations were high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through one fancy stair, I reached the upper section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Metal_Sculpture_Section\"><\/span>Metal Sculpture Section-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On the left side of me, there was a Metal Sculpture Section, where many Hindu and Buddhist gods were sculptured in a metal form like Nataraja, Hanu-bhairava, Mahankali, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-8-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"The Government Museum and art gallery Metal Sculpture \" class=\"wp-image-8278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-8-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-8-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gandhara_Sculpture_Section\"><\/span>Gandhara Sculpture Section-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After exploring metal sculptures, it was time for the Gandhara Sculpture section, which was right on the front side of the previous section. Mainly, it was dedicated to Lord\u2019s Buddha journey and his stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, I was mesmerized by seeing the sculptures of Lord buddha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-5-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"The Government Museum and art gallery Gandhara Sculpture\" class=\"wp-image-8287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-5-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-2-5-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, It was like buddha is standing in front of me and showering his blessings on me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ancient_Indian_Sculpture_Section\"><\/span>Ancient Indian Sculpture Section-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>More ancient sculptures were placed in this section, which was archeologically perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-gallery-Chandigarh-3-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Chandigarh Museum\" class=\"wp-image-8288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-gallery-Chandigarh-3-2-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-gallery-Chandigarh-3-2-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pahari_and_Rajasthan_Miniature_Paintings\"><\/span>Pahari and Rajasthan Miniature Paintings-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After the sculptures section, it was a time for RajasthaniPaintings. As soon as, I entered, My heart fall from them. From birds to Mughal rulers to Rajasthan princes and princesses, I have never seen this many beautiful paintings in my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detailing color combinations and paint was the next level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/techedo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/The-Government-Museum-and-Art-Gallery-Chandigarh-4-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Punjab and Chandigarh Museum\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>My brain was forcing me to take one painting to my home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, you know, I can\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ancient_Rocks_and_Coins\"><\/span>Ancient Rocks and Coins-<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I entered in Rock and coin section, but my heart was left out in the paintings section, especially for Portrait of Jaipur Princess, the most beautiful painting of any woman, I have ever seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay. Love aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was time for the ancient rocks and Coins section. Everything was so beautiful and perfect.
